Q. What is the difference between
ordering the software or one of the web tests?
A. Rapid Fire Software offers several test databases. When you
order the software, you will receive access only to the database(s)
that you ordered. However, you can test and re-test yourself as
many times as you like. The web-based test, on the other hand, allows
you access to all of our test databases but you are limited to either
1,000 or 3,000 test questions.
Q. Chrome won't download the database. I've tried Edge and the same thing?
A. Make this change to Edge and it will allow the download Turn off Defender Smartscreen. Also, if there are any further security questions answer 'Keep anyway' or 'Run anyway'
Q. What do I do if I get this error when I click on the Rapid-Fire icon?
A. This message only means that you already have the Rapid-Fire
software running. Click Ok to close the error window. On the lower right-hand corner of the screen, you will
see a green symbol as well as one or more red symbols, similar to Figure 1.
Figure 1
Right click on the Green symbol and select terminate. Repeat this with
the red symbol(s). Restart your computer. When the computer has
restarted double click the Rapid-Fire for Windows icon and wait patiently
as it may take your system a few minutes to load after rebooting.
Q. What do I do if I double-click on the Rapid-Fire icon, but the program does not start?
A. If you see the green symbol in the lower right-hand corner of your
screen, similar to Figure 2, the program is running. However, you
have a firewall or other computer setting that will not allow the
program to display properly.
Figure 2
To resolve this issue, open up Internet Explorer (You will not
have to be online to use Rapid-Fire. The program uses Internet Explorer
to view the locally run program) so you can view the program. In
the address bar, type http://127.0.0.1:50080/index.rex
This will point your browser to the Rapid-Fire software and you
will be able to use the program. Once you are able to access the
Rapid-Fire Student Edition Test page, select Favorites
from your menu bar, select Add to favorites and
click OK
Note: Depending on your security settings, you
may have to view Rapid-Fire using your Internet Explorer page. Being
that the program has displayed on your PC your security settings
may let it through normally. However if the next time you access
your Rapid-Fire software (by double-clicking on
the Rapid-Fire for Windows icon on the desktop) the program does
not display, open up Internet Explore (once again you do not have
to get online to complete this process) and select the Rapid-Fire
program you have previously saved under your favorites menu. For
this to work you must first try to open the software using the icon
so that the green symbol (Figure 2) is displayed on the lower tool
bar.
